A Master Card lines up every target word by blend, so you always know what's coming next.

Two levels, same words

• Level 1 — Picture + Letter Clues: children use the picture and the scrambled letters to work out the correct word.
• Level 2 — Picture Clues: the scrambled letters are gone — children use the picture alone to identify the word and rearrange the letters to build it, for an extra decoding challenge.

What is CCVC Word Scrambles?

CCVC Word Scrambles builds on CVC word-building skills by giving children repeated opportunities to organise, decode and read words that start with an initial consonant blend — the two-consonant clusters at the start of words like sled or crab. The game uses 32 CCVC words, beginning with L-blends, R-blends and S-blends before moving into mixed sets — and the same words return in two levels, so children can build confidence before working with fewer clues.

Children look closely at the picture, think about the sounds they hear — including the blended sound at the start — organise the letters and build the word, then read the completed CCVC word aloud.
