The levels build step by step: simple CVC words first, then a blend at the start (CCVC), a blend at the end (CVCC), and finally a blend at both ends (CCVCC).
How it works
Children read a word or a short sentence, look at the picture, and decide: True or False? The picture only helps if they read every sound, so there's no guessing.
- Two or three teams: every team gets the same cards in a different order and races to mark them on the whiteboard. Every card right first time scores a point.
- One player: one card at a time on a tablet or phone, with gentle feedback and no timer.
- Sound it out: hear the sounds in each Level 1 word, then the whole word (c… a… t… cat, cl… ock… clock).
- Results show the words right first time and the words to practise.
